Mental Health Awareness Month has elapsed, but we can keep it going!
What better time to take a step back to assess how you are doing with mental health self-care. Our ability to enjoy life is an indicator of our mental health wellbeing. Ask yourself these questions for a quick assessment on your ability to live life joyfully.
Do you have a few activities which give you joy?
Do you feel motivated?
Are you spending your time in meaningful activities?
If you answered “no” to these questions; you may be experiencing Anhedonia. Anhedonia is defined as loss of pleasure and/or motivation (Stanton et al., 2019).
